The Moon Festival Dance Party (中秋节舞会) was a huge success. Thanks everyone for attending. Your attendance and enthusiasm proves that there is a strong need for such a regular event in our community, and helps me to make up my mind to make long term planning to host and improve this event for a long time. Thanks.
This dance party is currently financially backed by Low Price Remodeling Inc. The long term ticket price is decided to be $10 per person based on the fact that all previous effort of hosting this party for $5 per person was not successful. The income was not enough to pay the basic facility rent. In the near future, for promotional purpose, we will offer many discount, such as woman or man free or half price night etc.. The income will be used to pay for facility, advertising, instructor etc. I also plan to acquire professional sound system when there is surplus.
We will host this party on the second and fourth Saturday Night (8 - 12 PM) in each month, instead of every Saturday Night. Instructor will teach according to needs in the first 30 minutes. This schedule change is to give me some time to acquire and organize better dance music, and give some time for the news of this event to be spread out to the public. We will switch back to weekly party when such a need arise. The next party will be on Saturday Night, 10/25/2008.
Please help to get the news out to your friends. If you have good dance music, ideas, suggestions or talent, please bring it in. If you go back to China, please get some good dance music, I will pay for it. I will be constantly update the music, the format of the party, the sound system etc., to create an environment that brings happiness and joy to most attendant.
Appreciation to all who have contributed their time and effort for the success of this event. I believe, by working together, we can build a sustainable and successful entertainment and hangout place for our community and beyond, and make this life in the USA more bearable and enjoyable.
